Do The eBay Sponsored Ads Really Increase Sales?

Do the eBay Promoted Listings / Sponsored Ads really work?

I see listings all over eBay with the word "Sponsored" above the item in search results. Ive always figured it was another way for eBay to make an extra buck from the sellers.

My thought was... what if EVERYBODY listed their items via the Promoted Listings, what good would it do, because everyone was doing it.

I guess whoever spent the most money on advertising would win the search result placement..

  1. I have tried this and did see an uptick in my sales also. But my Invoice the following month was also quite a bit higher! You get the sale, but it also lowers your profit margin. But, this is also because I already have everything in my store on sale to generate more business. So, the extra sales are great but I'm seeing lower profits. Suzanne G/sglifeandhome
