Why I Bought A Broken Tin Windup Toy And You Should Too!

It was a rainy day this past Saturday, and there were no yard sales to be found. I decided to hit a few thrift stores to get my "fix" and possibly find a treasure or two.

I stopped at one of my favorite stores, and in the corner of my eye, I spotted this Jiminy Cricket tin toy behind the glass display case!

I quickly did a search on eBay, and found that this same exact one in working condition sold for over $400

This one had a broken umbrella, and the windup mechanism did not work, I knew that it brought the value down a lot, but I also knew that there was only one other listed on eBay, I had the other one in my hand!!

They had a price of $75, and I talked them down to selling it to me for $50

It is currently listed on eBay with 3 days left on the auction, and it is already up to $41 with over 30 watchers. I am hoping it will sell for around $150 or more.

Remember Sears Christmas Catalogs?

I remember as a kid, my mother having the Sears catalog delivered to our house, and how much fun it was looking at all the cool toys inside.

This was back in the 1970's, and she kept all of the catalogs up in the attic for years.

Almost 40-50 years later, those catalogs, especially the Christmas catalogs, are worth some big bucks!

Watch the video to see how much money these are bringing!

You know the ole saying, " You learn something everyday" well today, I learned a little secret about bobble heads that I never knew.

This weekend while out hitting some garage sales, I came across this football player bobble head, the lady only wanted $1 for it, I thought it was cool so I bought it.

While researching similar listings on eBay, I came across a website selling vintage bobble heads or nodders, as some collector call them.

So apparently there is a slight variation to look for in bobble heads that bring the value up tremendously!

In this video, I will share with you the little secret that could make the difference between a $10 sale and a $300 sale!

TGSG eBay Selling Tip: Look For Uniform Patches

This past weekend while out hitting some garage sales, I came across a Wal-Mart bag full of  fire fighter patches.  They all looked new and in excellent shape.

It was late in the day, and all I  had on me was $6 cash. I asked the lady if she would take $6 for the bag of patches, and she said yes!

There were well over 100 patches in the bag, and I knew the value was way more than $6.

When I got home that afternoon, I started doing some completed items searches on the patches, and was pleasantly suprised on what I found.

The Ugly Truth About Buying Sports Cards To Sell On eBay

Back in the early 90's I caught the bug when it came to collecting basketball cards. Michael Jordan just retired from basketball, and was starting his baseball career.

I just knew without a shadow of a doubt, his baseball rookie was going to be worth thousands one day.  Over the next few months, I spent hundreds of dollars buying boxes and boxes of baseball cards in search of his rookie.

Now, 25 years or so later, Jordan's baseball rookie, is only worth a couple bucks,  unless you find one that is signed and graded, then it is worth a lot more.

During the 1980's and 1990's sports cards were mass produced, and their value today are pretty much worthless.  There may be a few rookie cards worth some money, but overall their trash.

Do The eBay Sponsored Ads Really Increase Sales?

Do the eBay Promoted Listings / Sponsored Ads really work?

I see listings all over eBay with the word "Sponsored" above the item in search results. Ive always figured it was another way for eBay to make an extra buck from the sellers.

My thought was... what if EVERYBODY listed their items via the Promoted Listings, what good would it do, because everyone was doing it.

I guess whoever spent the most money on advertising would win the search result placement..

In this video, I will share with you my findings when I decided to use the promoted listings feature, did it work or not?  Watch and see!
