How To Spot Fake eBay Emails

Today I received an email from eBay with a promotional offer to list 30,000 free items with zero final value fees until November 8th,
I was like cool! because I had already used up my free listings, and I had a ton of stuff to list!!

All I had to do was click on the "Activate offer" button, and I would be ready to get started!

When I clicked on the "Activate offer" button, it redirected me to a page that said, " Sorry, this offer is by invitation only" I figured there was a glitch in the system, so I called eBay to get it fixed.  Come to find out, it was a fake email, that was not sent by eBay!

Who Leaves Feedback First On eBay, The Buyer or Seller?

Who leaves feedback first, the buyer or the seller?

In the beginning stages of eBay, buyers and sellers could leave positive or negative feedback for each other. It was an ongoing battle of who leaves positive feedback first.

It got to the point that sellers would not leave positive feedback for buyers until they received positive feedback from them.  If the buyer happened to leave negative feedback, then the seller would leave negative feedback in retaliation.

What To Do If You Get A Credit Card Chargeback On Your eBay Sale

Last week I received an email from PayPal, that an eBay buyer has filed a credit card chargeback on one of my eBay sales. The buyer claimed the item was faulty.

I was like "huh"? I never received any message from anyone claiming a problem with their order.

I quickly looked up the buyers username, and then looked at my sales reports to see what he purchased.

You will not in a million years guess what he claimed was faulty..... DISH DETERGENT!  The detergent was purchased over 60 days earlier. He bypassed eBay and PayPal all together, and went straight to the credit card company!

Why Are eBay Sales So Slow? Here Are Some Theories

Over the last few years of drop shipping, I have noticed a steady decline in sales. I am going on my third year, and honestly, sales are terrible.

However the items I find at garage sales and thrift stores, continue to sell nicely.

My first year of drop shipping, I averaged about 20-30 sales a day!  All I did was copy and past pictures and descriptions from Amazon onto eBay. It was like shooting fish in a barrel. Then eBay started requiring sellers to add upc codes and item specifics. This was supposed to help sales, but in my opinion, I think it got worse.

How To Make Money Selling Tools On eBay, Look For Snap On Brand

When I was a teenager working at a mechanic shop back in the 1980's, it was my job to make sure all the mechanics tools were cleaned and placed back neatly in their tool box.

The brand that they used the most was Snap-on. Every week, the Snap-on man would arrive in his truck to the shop, and the mechanics would purchase new tools or if one of their tools broke, Snap-on would replace it for free.

Years later, when I started selling on eBay, I came across a massive collection of used Snap-on tools. I remembered that is was the mechanics favorite tool, so I quickly did an eBay search on my phone to see if they were selling on eBay.  To my surprise, almost every single Snap-on item sold!

Sell Similar Or Relist Which Is Best For Your eBay Listings?

This is the age old question people have been asking for years, should I relist or sell similar an item that did not sell on eBay.

I personally have a mixture of drop ship items from online suppliers, and items I  have found at garage sales and thrift stores.

Here is my take on it, and I have found that it works for me. I list all my drop ship items for 30 days, and my garage sale finds for 7 days. If at the end of 30 days, a drop ship item did not sell, I will use the "Sell Similar" option, adjust my keywords in the title, and research my pricing to make sure I am still competitive, and I will do the same for my garage sale finds also.

Why You Should Not Drop Ship From Other eBay Sellers

If you are an eBay drop shipper, going out of stock is one of our biggest fears, crossing our fingers when we go to our suppliers website and praying it is still in stock!

I have been selling on eBay for 15 years, and dropshipping full time for the last few years, and  I have found ways to make sure I never go out of stock, and if I should, I would search other suppliers to find it.

There are "guru's" out there telling newbie dropshippers to search eBay for your item, if you should go out of stock.  NEWSFLASH!  The odds are that if you are out of stock, they are too!!
